2013 Sacramento Believers

Welcome to the 2013 Sacramento Believers Basketball team website.  This site includes information about the team. The team is dedicated to providing a competitive basketball program for its boys.

History
The 2013 Believers were formed in 2006.  The head coach is Jeff Ota.  Jeff was recognized by the Sacramento Bee as one of area's top 100 High School basketball players of all time. He is currently assistant varsity girl's basketball coach for his alma mater, C.K. McClatchy, where he still holds many records.

News (posted 11/17/07)
We are currently practicing every Sunday 1:00-3:00 at McClatchy High School, but we start playing games in March.  We will play approximately 6 tournaments in 2008, mostly in the Bay Area.  The first tournament is scheduled Easter weekend (March 22-23) in San Jose.

Here's a general idea of a player that we're looking for:

  • Interested in playing competitive Asian Club basketball (a step or two below AAU)
  • Tall for a 7th grader, preferably 5'6 or above and is projected to be taller than 6'0 in the future (tall parents or relatives)
  • Is athletic and currently involved in some type of team sport like basketball football, soccer, etc.
  • Supportive parents or family structure that have the time to take the kids to practices and tournaments
  • Family can financially support the costs of uniforms, travel, tournaments, etc., which may be substantial.
  • Starting in 8th grade through High School, the team will probably play 8-12 tournaments, mostly in the Bay Area, but sometimes in Southern California.
We would like to meet with the prospective player and invite them to a couple of our practices to make sure there's a good fit for the player, the family and our team.
